We left Brownsville this past Sunday, and have spent the last few days with my family for Christmas. It has been really nice to be with everyone again. My nephews and niece are so much fun. The food was amazing and seeing my parents after so many months has been so great!
We visit our first church this Sunday. Blake is teaching youth Sunday school, and we are showing a Students International promo video during service. It’s the church that Blake lead worship at as a senior in high school and we both worked with the kids. The pastor married us. He made a lasting impact on us because he believed in us. There’s not much that means more than someone believing in you. Then on Wednesday Blake and I will be flying to Visalia, California to attend new staff training at Students International’s headquarters.
I had a moment (okay an hour) of gripping fear during the night last night. Although money has poured in for our start up costs, we are still far from what we need in our monthly support. And our goal is to leave in nine weeks. We are in need of some miraculous provision. This morning my faith feels stronger, my hope more sure, and my confidence in the steadfastness of the Lord more certain. Our God who called us is faithful. Let’s see how He does this!

Hi Christina, I have just been catching up with your posts from the last four months. I have been so busy caring for David I haven’t been keeping up with you. It has been a blessing to read over your posts and hear all the Lord is doing in your life and heart. My husband just told me about his co-worker last night, who is moving his household, and each obstacle he encountered from timing, to money, to favor with landlords all melted one after another. But as he came up to each obstacle, he was constantly turning to God and saying, “this is not too much for you,if this is what you want for me than I know it will happen, I will rest in you, tell me what to do.” He encountered great favor and each need was met without him even working away at it. He kept having to surrender each step as it came up. It was all so obviously God, for instance when the new Landlord needed him to move at once, he said I need to give 4 weeks notice. When he called the old landlord, before he even asked, he was told you can just give me two weeks notice. Then the new one said he would agree to waiting two weeks, but needed a large deposit. An extra job was offered to him the next day, with advance pay, for the exact amount of the deposit. I felt like I was supposed to encourage you with that. I will be praying for you and your family!
Was wondering how things were going on the ministry front. God called you to it and He will make a way. Love the family pictures, especially the one of the guys sleeping.
@ABAHM - this is EXACTLY what I needed to hear!! Thank you!!
